Persons > Memorial Card
This memorial card was given to mourners when Gerard Dell Lartigue died in January 1900. (The name "Gerrard" on the memorial card was a misspelling.) The baby was called "Dell," and he was the first child of Dr. Etienne and Allie Dell Lartigue. He was less than two years old when he died. Memorial, or mourning, cards gained in popularity during the Victorian era as a symbol of remembrance. They were given to family and friends and were frequently kept as a reminder of a lost friend or loved one.
