West Main Street South
Driving a team of eight oxen on Gainesville's clay streets required great skill and strength for the teamsters. This photo, copied from archives of Klein Graham, was probably taken around South Main Street and Depot Avenue. A Seaboard car is on the right in the distance. Seaboard Airline Railway system took over the old route of David Yulee's Florida Railroad in 1903.
