Wondering why you haven't seen this photo in our historic photo collection? The story behind this photo began when we tried to find one that was a "representative image" to use on the Heritage Collection homepage. We narrowed it down to three images.

  • The Alachua County Courthouse--The pride of the County, the Courthouse sat at the center of our community for almost 80 years.

  • The Alachua Sink--Lush and green, the Sink represents the natural beauty that has, so abundantly, blessed Alachua County.

  • The Tung Oil Float--The pleasure and exuberance seen in this photo represent our sense of community, celebration, and the promise of a bright future.

Our solution was to create a photomontage of the three images in a way that would communicate the values we hold and the blessings we enjoy in a believable way. We hope you also enjoy the result!
